Join Us Tomorrow For Habitat for Humanity Groundbreaking!

I want to invite you to a very special event tomorrow, Saturday February 27, from 10am to noon at 15th street and Henderson. I will be joined by Mayor Bob Foster, Habitat for Humanity, the Long Beach Housing Development Company, and neighborhood residents and volunteers for a groundbreaking and celebration of new Habitat housing in the Henderson/Washington School neighborhood.

We are building three new homes for families in the Washington Neighborhood and I'm excited to get started.

I also want to invite anyone interested in buying one of these homes to attend an orientation meeting at the Long Beach Day Nursery, 1548 Chestnut Avenue. You can attend either on March 6 or March 20, from 10am to noon. These orientations are mandatory for homebuyers, and you must arrive on time because the doors close at 10am.

This new development is part of the many improvements we’re making in the neighborhood, including new sidewalks, improved park maintenance, street repairs, new tree placement, a new skatepark, Seaside Park, and other initiatives that are already greatly enhancing the appearance and quality of life in this community.

I hope you can join us me tomorrow for this important celebration.

Go Long Beach!
