2nd Annual Latin American Festival & Parade: Kick-Off Reception, Grand Marshals & More

I am proud to announce that on September 25, we will celebrate our City's 2nd Annual Latin-American Parade and Festival in Downtown Long Beach. The parade and festival will draw thousands of people to Pine Avenue and the East Village.

We started this event last year with the Downtown Long Beach Associates to celebrate our rich Latin-American culture in Long Beach, and as economic boom to Downtown restaurants and businesses.  The parade will run the entire length of Pine Avenue starting at 6th & Pine, and end in the East Village for a celebration which will include delicious Latin food, musical performances and Latino art on display.

The Latin American Parade & Festival uses no city general fund dollars, and is supported by generous corporate donors and the DLBA.  For more information about how to get involved in the parade and festival, please contact Steve Sheldon at the Downtown Long Beach Associates at steves@dlba.org or 562-436-4259.

Kick-Off Reception @ Hotel Maya

You are also invited to a kick-off reception in honor of the Grand & Community Marshals on Wednesday, September 8 from 6pm - 8pm at the Hotel Maya in Downtown Long Beach.  This reception will honor our Grand Marshal and Harbor Commissioner Mario Cordero, Community Marshal & Executive Director of Centro CHA Jessica Quintana, and Community Marshal & Long Beach Bike Ambassador Tony Cruz.  Spanish singer Shaila Durcal will serve as the Festival & Parade's Celebrity Marshal.

If you would like to attend the Kick-Off Reception, please contact Cory Allen in my office at, (562) 570-6919, or by email at district1@longbeach.gov
